My interests, style of shooting
In terms of work, I love to capture beautiful moments between people in terms of weddings, events, and couple shoots. I also am passionate about taking portraits that embody the essence of the individual and enjoy spontaneous photographs over posed images.
I believe smiles are more attractive when they aren’t posed. I am a strong believer that portraits always look great in black and white. Apart from these genres, I do like to shoot a variety of other subject matters such as interiors, fitness, performance, food, and landscapes.
I have done 9 weddings in 2022, 7 weddings in 2023, and 2 weddings in two weeks in 2024 (as well as a 16th birthday party) as things stand. I have done numerous couple shoots, events (including birthdays) as well as other shoots in the last few years too.
I have created work from when I was a child, in the form of drawings and paintings through to high school (Westerford, 2010) level and into university (at Michaelis, University of Cape Town, 2015). While at UCT, I majored in painting and photography, with photography ultimately becoming my sole major.
I first took to cameras when I had my first handheld digital camera at the age of 10 years, and then had my first experience with film cameras in grade 11 at the Peter Clarke Art Centre (formerly Frank Joubert Private Art School), which I would carry into my first two years of university.
